A German’s Point Of View On Islam

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

I have become a big fan of Rabbi Moshe Laurie, a Messianic Jew who has a program on TCT. Tonight he read this piece.

German’s Point Of View On Islam

A man whose family was part of the German aristocracy prior to World War II owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.

“Very few people were true Nazis “he said,” but many enjoyed the return of German pride; many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us–we had lost control and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp; the Allies destroyed my factories.”

We are told again and again by “experts” and “talking heads” that islam is the “religion of peace” and the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff meant to make us feel better and meant to somehow diminish the spectre of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of islam.

The fact is FANATICS rule islam at this moment in history.

It is fanatics who march. It is fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an islamic wave. It is fanatics who bomb, behead, murder or honor kill. It is fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. The hard, quantifiable fact is the “peaceful majority”, the “silent majority”, is cowed and extraneous.

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority was irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet. And, who can forget Rwanda , which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were “peace loving”?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up because, like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find the fanatics own them and the end of their world will have begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghanis, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. As for we who watch it all unfold? We must pay attention to the only group that counts–the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

Anyone who doubts the issue is serious is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand.

Ministry Next Door

Monday, February 25th, 2008

James 1:27 “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

Today Chuck and I went over to a sweet widow’s home to help clean out her storage shed. Really it was Chuck who did the work and I was there to be a chaperon. In this day it is not wise for a christian man to go without a witness. I knew that there would be no problem with either one of them, but wisdom reigns. After all the word says have no appearance of evil.

This little lady’s HOA painted her storeroom door before Christmas and left it open to dry. Well, while it was open a cat wondered inside and got locked in the storeroom. Three weeks later guests heard the cat and discovered it starving and took it to a local vet. While the cat was hidden it tore the storeroom up. She was overwhelmed with the mess and needed help. It only took an hour and a half of our time, but it took a big burden off her shoulders.

After we got back to the house Chuck jumped in the shower and forgot he had his hearing aides in his ears. I heard a blood curdling scream and ran in the bathroom expecting blood or some type injury. I took the hearing aides and tried to dry them out, but he felt he should drive to Rock Hill and get the Beltone tech to check them.

While he was gone I put a load of clothes in the washer and as I went to put the wet clothes in the dryer I stepped in a large puddle of water. The washer had leaked water and I was all alone. I could not budge the washer and had no clue what I would do if I could move it away from the wall. Suddenly I was in the place that most single women face and it was very uncomfortable. The only difference was that my dilemma was short lived because my man was soon home and had things under control.

As I stood at my front door watching Chuck drive up I was thankful for my husband and thankful that the Lord allowed me for a moment to be touched with the feelings of my sisters. We live in an area that is filled with single moms and older widows. The opportunity to minister is right next door.

Isaiah 58:6-7 Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,  And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

Shock And Outraged

This information was posted on Tom Davis’ Blog.  Tom is a young man with a heart for the poor and orphaned.  His blog is: Tom’s Blog

We have a team in Swaziland, that nation in Africa where nearly half the adult population has the AIDS virus. I received this email from Gary Black in Swaziland today and it wrecked me:

“The team found a four week-old laying on its dead mother yesterday, they kept it - we are getting it to the abandoned baby hospital Friday.”

What do we do with this? That’s my son’s team down there. I don’t know about you, but I’m outraged by a world that produces situations like this.

And while that may seem like a world away to many, for my son, it’s as immediate as it is heart-wrenching.

The only thing that appalls me more is that so many of us Americans who can do something about this are more interested in stuff that will only ultimately burn up in the big fire.

God help us. God, help us to wake up. Help us to see how much you love the widow and the orphan. God help us to break as you are broken up over this four week-old.

God, help me to lose this tortoise shell religion that sheds these kinds of tragic situations like water. Forgive me God for not praying more. Forgive me for not emptying my bank account for your little ones. God, we have lost true religion. We have sought finer sanctuaries and better parking lots.

We have tried to fill our church pews with seekers, but we have not sought your children dying on their mother’s chests. We need to see a way out of this mess that we’ve got ourselves in. God, help us in this 21st century mindset that we’ve acquired. I don’t even know what else to pray.

A Prayer Request From My Son

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Church, in case you have not noticed we are in a spiritual war that has intensified over the last few months. I have never had as many urgent prayer request like I have recently. We must cover each other in prayer and ask the Lord to send the warring angels to bring down this enemy that is coming against His chosen ones.

My son posted this request below on his blog and I am passing it to you to help pray. Agree for complete healing. While praying for Nana add Michal Ann Goll and Mary Jo who are fighting the same fight.

I have a really good friend, who has a friend in need. Kelly is my friend and Nana is her friend. Nana has found out that her cancer has returned and that it is inoperable. Kelly is rallying up all of her blogging friends and is asking them to pray and ask their readers to pray. You can never have too many people praying. In Nana’s daughters words to Kelly “what if everyone that blogs posts a prayer request for Nana…think of how many people would be praying. do you think that’s a good idea?” Kelly’s reply was “well, let’s just hunker down and pray like mad women….she’s strong and if anybody can fight through it, she can”.

So, I am asking if you have a blog, please pass this along to your readers. If you don’t have a blog, then please just pray for Nana. Kelly tells me she is a wonderful lady. So, say a prayer for Nana and anyone else you know that is in need.

In His grip,

Chuck

Letters To President Bush

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Many of us have been praying (at times more moaning) over our Presidents recent trip to Israel and his agenda to divide land in Israel and accomplish a Palestinian state. I recently became aware that he received two letters of opposite opinions prior to his recent trip to the Middle East.

One was from a group called Evangelicals for Social Action that wrote a letter to President Bush July 27, 2007 urging him to go forward with negotiations with both Israel and Palestine to create a new Palestinian state which would include the vast majority of the West Bank. The signatures on this letter included representatives of ministries such as World Vision, Christianity Today, many churches and seminaries. You can read the entire letter at their website:

On the opposite side the Sanhedrin, the ancient Jewish court of law, and the Temple Institute sent another letter to President Bush a few weeks prior to his visit to the Middle East. In this letter they warned President Bush about touching the land that belonged to Israel. You can read this letter on:

http://www.templeinstitute.org/megillat-bush.pdf

I have many reservations about the Sanhedrin because of their judging by the letter of the law which the Bible says killeth. They are gaining more control in the government of Israel and I really don’t think that is a good thing for Israel. However, I do agree with them on this matter. America pressuring Israel to divide covenant land is a dangerous thing. I heard about this letter from Rabbi Moshe Laurie who is a Messianic Rabbi. According to him the Evangelicals won and President Bush has sold out Israel. I pray he is wrong or if he is right that the Lord will reverse what has been done. We are in a very critical time and we best intercede for this country.

All In a Days Work

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Finally Chuck is feeling better, but still has not gotten his stamina back. I took him to the doctor yesterday since I had done all I knew to do. She did a flu test which was negative and decided that it was a virus. She said to continue what we were doing and that will be a 100 dollars please. She did finally give him those famous pearls to help with his cough.

Three of our grandchildren are fighting an upper respiratory infection. Andrew had a bacterial infection and Hunter and Brittany have a virus. Now Chuck Jr is down with the virus. There are some really sick people around and it is coming in many forms. There is the stomach virus, flu, upper respiratory viral infection and upper respiratory bacterial infection. Close the doors and shut the windows.

I am praying that the Lord will teach us to walk in the PS 91 protection. I believe there are things coming on the earth that we will need to dwell under the shadow of His wings.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. 14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”

After getting a good nights rest, I decided to start gathering the income tax information to send to our Mississippi CPA. Thank the Lord for Quicken which makes gathering the information so much easier. This year the chore was made a little more palatable by my new tech toys.

I sat downstairs on our couch going through the papers and the Quicken report while watching the programs recorded on the DVR and working on my new Apple laptop. I could email ministries about corrected receipts and make a spread sheet while sitting back on my couch with my feet up. Life is really hard.
